Woman Kills Husband with Sledgehammer, Chops Him Up, Throws Pieces Into a Pit

Here’s a case of some domestic violence Brazilian style. In Conceição das Alagoas, state of Minas Gerais, Brazil A 69 year old woman identified as Odette Maria, was apprehended on charges of murdering her husband. Suspicion arose when the victim’s brother reported him missing. The story took a darker turn when the dog of a neighbor began to bring pieces of meat into his house that were suspiciously human. Police were notified and led to a pit on the property that indeed, contained human body parts but the whole body was not there. The torso was discovered by the victim’s own sister and her husband when they went to Odette’s house to inquire about the whereabouts of her brother. He was found in a tank on the property. Police issued a warrant for Odette who was not home and soon found to be hiding out at a friend’s house.

After a little while in custody she confessed to drugging her husband, then killing him with blows from a sledgehammer, chopped him up with an ax and discarded the remains in the pit and the tank on her property. She said that she has no remorse for what she had done because he mistreated her.

Don’t worry, I’m not going to turn this into a misogynistic rant. Given the quality of people these days and the downright selfishness of both men and women, coupled with the lack of real love and communication between partners, it’s no wonder these things happen. Think she went a little over board, though.
